Not so lucky were the men, although Marcus Lawler (Clonliffe Harriers) clocked a solid time of 21.13 secs when winning the fastest of the three men’s A races.

Over 800m, Sean Healy (DSD) finished third in the A race in 1:55.83 while Conrad Latham (Raheny Shamrock) won the men’s B race. Robyn Carey (Lusk AC) was second in the women’s A race in 2:15.50. All the 800m athletes got a thorough soaking, as did the high jumpers, although before the deluge had everyone running for cover, former Irish basketball international Lorcan Murphy (DSD AC) managed to soar over 1.90m. Murphy was a high jumper in his pre-basketball days and is training for his first decathlon next month. More pictures are at https://www.flickr.com/photos/lindie/albums/72177720326878099.
